A Clean, Contemporary Kitchen & Bath Remodel in Vancouver, Washington.
Every project is a little different, but some stand out for how well everything comes together—design, materials, and function. This recent kitchen and bathroom remodel for the Pohl family is a great example of a clean, modern look paired with thoughtful craftsmanship and practical design choices.
A Modern Kitchen with a Warm Feel
For this project, the goal was a more contemporary kitchen that still felt comfortable and livable day to day. We used custom cherry cabinetry with a flat-panel door style to create a clean, streamlined look. The European frameless cabinet design helps maximize storage while keeping the overall appearance simple and uncluttered.
Instead of traditional upper cabinets, we incorporated floating shelves. This keeps the space feeling more open and gives the kitchen a lighter, more modern feel while still providing accessible storage. The countertops are MSI “Iced White” quartz, which offers a bright, clean surface that is both durable and low maintenance—no sealing required.
Thoughtful Details That Make a Difference
As with all of our projects, the details matter just as much as the overall design.
The cabinetry includes:
- Hardwood dovetail drawer construction
- Full-extension soft-close drawer glides
- All-plywood cabinet boxes for long-term durability
These are the kinds of features that may not stand out right away, but they make a big difference in how the kitchen functions and holds up over time.
Carrying the Design into the Bathrooms
To create consistency throughout the home, we carried the same modern design approach into two bathroom vanities. These floating vanities feature Rift Sawn White Oak in the Canyon Creek “Vista” door style, giving them a clean, contemporary look while adding a bit of natural warmth.
Floating the vanities off the floor helps keep the space feeling open and makes cleaning easier—another example of balancing style with everyday practicality.
A Great Experience from Start to Finish
One of the most important parts of any remodel is the experience along the way. We appreciated working with Neil and his family and are grateful for the kind words he shared after the project was complete:
“Thanks for all your work and guidance on our project. You were an exceptional part of the entire experience and I learned a lot from how you approach your clients and your craft.”
Built for Everyday Living
At the end of the day, a successful remodel is about more than just how a space looks. It’s about how it works for the people who use it every day. This project is a great example of how a thoughtful plan, quality materials, and attention to detail can come together to create a space that feels both modern and comfortable for years to come.
