Why the lowest priced contractor is never the best

The homeowner who uses a contractor based upon price is often disappointed. I like the following thought by John Ruskin (1819-1900) "Prices - It's unwise to pay too much. It's worse to pay too little. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you [...]

We love our new kitchen!

We love our new kitchen! It is warm and inviting. . .I don't even mind cooking! The first two pics are of the old kitchen. The third pic is actually three pics, stitched together, to come out as one. So, it may look a bit wavy. As you can see, we had to get a new stove and microwave. Eventually, we will get a stainless dishwasher and refrigerator. Notice the difference between the second pic and the third pic in the ceiling lights. Daryle took out the lowered look and put in three new covers to make it all [...]

What kind of countertop is right for you?

One important feature of a kitchen is the countertop.  Is it functional, easy to maintain, does it look nice and will it last? Before you buy new countertops for your kitchen consider these important points about Granite, Quartz, Corian and Laminate countertops. Granite Countertops *Granite is Natural Stone and nothing matches the beauty of natural stone. *Granite is very hard and does not scratch easily. *Granite countertops should be sealed once a year, unless you get the sealer that is guaranteed for a lifetime.  If it stains after this treatment the sealing company will remove the stains for free. Re-facing or new cabinets?

When remodeling your kitchen one of the most common questions asked is should I re-face my cabinets or replace my cabinets? This is a very good question. I always tell my customers it depends on what needs to be done. First of all lets give a definition of Refacing your cabinets.
